A local court has rejected the bail of Prof M Kodandaram, Etela Rajender, Jupalli Kirshna Rao and others who were arrested during Sadak Bandh.

Alampur Junior Civil Judicial Court has ruled that the leaders of the Sadak Bandh were booked under Sections 147, 148, 341, 188, 427, 109 R/w 149 along with PDPP Act.

The cases were registered against 11 persons, of which three are absconding. As the investigation is still in progress and three persons are absconding, it is not possible to grant bail, the court ruled.

Meanwhile, organizations including TPJAC, Students Union JAC and other JACs have condemned the arrest of the leaders and called for a bandh on March 24 in protest against the arrests. They appealed to all the people’s representatives, traders and other to cooperate and make the bandh a success.
