Etala said that the government has appointed a committee under senior IAS Officer Mohan Kanda to look into problems of farmers in Godavari districts who declared `Crop Holiday’ in 3 lakh acres. On the other side, the TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu arranged a delegation of national level leaders to visit Godavari districts to get first hand information from the farmers. However, the government showed no seriousness towards the farmers in the Telangana region, he alleged.

The TRS leader also criticized the police action on Telangana MPs at Gun Park, who came to hoist tri-color to mark 65th Independence Day celebrations. “There is no freedom to hoist even tri-colour for Telangana leaders in the region,” he pointed out.

Etala called upon Telangana ministers not to attend the Cabinet meeting convened by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today evening as they would be embarrassed on the lines of MPs at Gun Park.

Condemning the detention of civil activist Anna Hazare by Delhi police, Etala Rajender extended his full support to agitation against corruption.
