Newly appointed Apcc Chief Botsa Satyanarayana on Wednesday made it clear that all major decisions, be it his future in the Cabinet or the contentious Telangana issue, would be taken by the High Command while he will play the role of a mediator in the state.

to signal that he is assuming charge of the state Congress.

Mr Satyanarayana disclosed that the High Command would take a decision on his future Cabinet status. It may be mentioned here that Mr Satyanarayana still holds the Transport Minister’s portfolio.

“Whatever decision the High Command takes, I will obey it,” he said.

Stating that the decision of the High Command was final on Telangana state issue as far as the party is concerned, Mr Satyanarayana said “I will stand by the High Command’s decision on Telangana and follow it in letter and spirit.”

Reacting on the objections raised by some leaders over the appointment of a leader from Seemandhra region as the PCC chief, he asked the critics to clear their doubts over his appointment through dialogue.

“I will take suggestions positively and try to rectify my mistakes. I will also take criticism in the right spirit,” he stated.

Mr Satyanarayana expressed confidence that he could revive the past glory of Congress by taking effective measures and by taking government schemes and party programmes to doorsteps of people.

Responding to questions about disciplinary action against those MLAs who are allegedly moving closely with YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy, the PCC chief said “I will comment on this only after taking charge as the PCC chief.”

However, he expressed confidence that the MLAs will rejoin their parent party soon. “They will soon realize their mistakes and show their total loyalty towards Congress,” he said.

Mr Satyanarayana said that he would play the role of a mediator between the government, people and party. I will take the schemes and programmes launched by the party to the doorsteps of people. I will involve all leaders in this endeavor and utilize their services, he said.

He also sought the cooperation of the media to improve the party’s image and for delivering government programmes to genuine beneficiaries.
