Pointing out that the state government is faced with three important issues, Telangana, Jagan factor and elimination of casteism in the Cabinet, government posts and party, Minister for Handlooms and Textiles P Shankar Rao on Monday urged Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to disband his entire Cabinet and then revamp it.

The Minister also demanded that the party cadre must be given appropriate posts in the various Local Bodies so that they do not even think of becoming dissidents and instead work to strengthen the party. “This would go a long way in effectively tackling two of the three issues facing the government,” he opined.

Dr Shankar Rao, known as a maverick, also urged Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy to first suspend those members of his Cabinet against whom allegations of wrongdoing are being levelled and then order impartial inquiries into those allegations.

“If any allegations of wrong doing are made against me, I would request the Chief Minister to take the same action,” Dr Shankar Rao told media persons at the Congress Legislature Party Office.

“He must ensure that those Ministers who are facing allegations of wrongdoings must be kept out of the Cabinet,” the Minister continued.

“Any team must be efficient, loyal to the High Command and answerable to the party cadre and the people of the state. The Chief Minister must chose carefully,” he advised.

He also urged the Chief Minister to fill the posts in various corporations with the party cadre and alleged that these party loyalists were deprived justice during the tenure of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

“As many as 20,000 party workers can be accommodated in various posts in the forthcoming Local Body elections,” Dr Shankar Rao pointed out.

Demanding that he Chief Minister restrain his Cabinet colleagues from interfering in his constituency Cantonment, the Textiles Minister disclosed that an ACP and RDO from Seemandhra regions were posted there.

This was due to the decisions by some Ministers from the city due to their monitory gains, Dr Shankar Rao alleged and demanded that they keep off his turf.
