Praja Rajyam Party leaders on Wednesday appealed to Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar to initiate action against two MLAs-- Katasani Rami Reddy and Shobha Nagi Reddy from Kurnool district, under Anti-Defection Law for indulging in anti-party activities.

The PRP leaders, including Upendra, Harirama Jogaiah and Kotagiri Vidyadhara Rao, on Wednesday met Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar at his chambers and discussed about the possible action against Mr Rami Reddy and Ms Shobha Nagi Reddy for openly extending support to YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

They said they would submit a petition to Deputy Speaker in this regard after taking permission from party president K chiranjeevi on Thursday.

Earlier, the leaders convened a meeting with their party president K Chiranjeevi and discussed threadbare about taking action on these MLAs under the Anti-Defection Law.

In the meeting, they stated that if Mr Chiranjeevi kept quiet it would send wrong signals to the party leaders and cadres, besides exposing his own inefficiency in controlling the party leaders.

“This might give scope for many others to openly defy your leadership and that will not augur well for the party,” they said.
