Decision on resignation within 2 days, Pocharam calls off dharna

Telugu Desam Party MLA from Banswada Pocharam Srinivas called off his sit-in dharna at the Gandhi statue on the Assembly premises after getting an assurance by Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar that a decision on the acceptance of his resignation would be taken within two days.

Talking to media persons after calling of his sit-in protest in front of Gandhi statue on Assembly premises, Mr Srinivas said that the Deputy Speaker conveyed a message to him through the Assembly marshals that he would take a decision within two days.

Mr Srinivas revealed that he was taking the decision to withdraw his dharna following this assurance.

However, Mr Srinivas and TRS leader K Taraka Rama Rao warned the Deputy Speaker that they would intensify the agitation from April 3 if Mr Manohar does not accept the resignation.

Earlier, Telangana Rashtra Samithi Floor Leader in the Assembly Etala Rajender alleged  a conspiracy in the delay in accepting the Mr Srinivas’ resignation by Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar. Mr Rajender had alleged that Mr Manohar had colluded with Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu and was deliberately not accepting Mr Srinivas’ resignation.
