TDP MLA terms Legislators supporting Jagan as 'political prostitutes'

Telugu Desam Party MLA from Vijayawada Devineni Uma Maheshwar Rao on Wednesday described the MLAs supporting the YSR Congress Party as ‘political prostitutes’ and predicted that the party would soon vanish from the state’s political horizon as its president YS Jaganmohan Reddy would merge it with the ruling Congress.

Talking to media persons at Assembly Media Point, Mr Maheshwar Rao stated that the MLAs who are elected on the symbol of a particular party should stick to that party or resign before aligning with another outfit. Those who do not resign from their parent party and yet support another outfit can be best described a ‘political prostitutes’, he opined.

The Tdp Mla further added that the MLAs supporting Mr Jaganmohan Reddy can at best fit into this category since they have been moving from one party to the other, without leaving their parent party.

He predicted that the YSR Congress Party will soon bite the dust since it is supported by such a group of people who do not owe allegiance to anyone but themselves.

“It will be merged into the Congress on the lines of Praja Rajyam, who leaders opted for Ministerial berths, rather than serving the people,” Mr Maheshwar Rao stated.

Demanding a probe by Joint Legislative Committee into the alleged illegal assets of Mr Jaganmohan Reddy, the Tdp Mla stated that a thorough investigation will bring the truth to light about how the Kadapa leader had amassed crores of rupees. He added that such a probe would also reveal how much loss the government has incurred due to ‘illegal dealings’ of Mr Jaganmohan Reddy.

Alleging that both Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Mr Jaganmohan Reddy are ganging up to loot the state, Mr Maheshwar Reddy demanded to know why the government has not taken back its land sanctioned to the Brahmani Steels, floated by Karnataka Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy since work on the plant has not yet started.

The MLA said that the TDP would continue its fight against the government until it restores the lands to farmers, which were sanctioned to industrialists under Special Economic Zones.

When asked why the TDP was not introducing a No Trust Motion against the government instead of stalling the House on various issues, the MLA said that his party would introduce a No Confidence Motion at an appropriate time when it benefits its party politically
