Former Telugu Mahila Chief and film actress Roja on Monday alleged that Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu was targeting former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy after being unable to digest the latter’s growing popularity.

Talking to media persons at Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s residence at Jubilee Hills, Ms Roja said that Mr Naidu has now resorted to making baseless allegations against the Kadapa leader after being unable to digest his growing popularity. Adding fuel to Mr Naidu’s frustrations was the fact that many MLAs from various parties were flocking to Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s political meetings.

Ms Roja said that the former MP’s supporters are becoming increasingly fed up with Mr Naidu’s rhetoric and said that they would no longer tolerate such baseless remarks against Mr Jaganmohan Reddy.

The former TDP leader also challenged Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s detractors to back their allegations of his ‘so-called illegal methods of amassing unaccounted wealth’ with proof and proper evidence.

The former film actress pointed out that Mr Naidu had earlier targeted Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s father and former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy. She said that the TDP chief had often called Dr Rajasekhara Reddy a ‘factionist’.

“Now he is targeting Jagan and branded him as factionist unable to digest his good political fortunes,” she said.

“If they (YSR and YSJ) are factionists and have involved in the killings of their rivals, what was Mr Naidu doing during his nine-year stint as chief minister, Ms Roja questioned.

She alleged that both Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and TDP president have colluded and hatched a conspiracy to nip Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s political career in the bud.

However, Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s yet-to-be launched party will give a fitting reply to the Congress and TDP in upcoming elections, she stated.
