Health Minister Dl Ravindra Reddy on Saturday alleged that Kadapa leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy is indirectly blackmailing the All India Congress Committee by trying to wean away five MLAs.

Talking to media persons at the CLP Office on the Assembly premises, Dr Ravindra Reddy said that the former Congress MP was trying to show his political power to the AICC by weaning away the MLAs. He said that these attempts to blackmail the AICC will not succeed.

The Minister also challenged the five MLAs reported to be supporting the Kadapa leader to resign from the party and their Assembly seats and contest elections again. He said that these MLAs had won only because they contested under the Congress banner.

Dr Ravindra Reddy also stated that he would fight from any seat in Kadapa district under the Congress banner and challenged Mr Jaganmohan Reddy to contest against him under his own banner and win.

He said that he will not even take the name of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy and still win the by-elections.

The Minister also said that Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s talk about human rights, justice and peace are meaningless since he has violated all these noble principles all his life. He added that the people of Kadapa are well aware about Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s wrong doings.
