TRS sees ploy in Central Forces presence

Telangana Rashtra Samithi Floor Leader Etala Rajender on Saturday saw a conspiracy behind the statement of Director General of police K Aravinda Rao’s statement that any violence in the aftermath of the tabling of Justice BN Srikrishna Commission Report would be met with an iron hand.

Speaking to media persons at the media point in Assembly premises, Mr Rajender said that the DGP was trying to instil a sense of fear in the hearts of Telangana protagonists by making such statements.

He added that he feared that the state and Central governments will try to curb the just demands of Telangana state by using force.

Mr Rajender warned the government that the Telangana sentiment will not be crushed under the use of force. He said that the people of Telangana will counter all and any repressive measures with protests.

He added that the Telangana people will bear any possible repressive measures by the government with firm determination and ensure that that a separate state is formed.

The state government had earlier asked for around 120 companies of Central paramilitary forces for the state, anticipating a backlash in the Telangana region after the submission of the Srikrishna Report.
