Election Commission has issued a notice to K. Chandrashekar Rao

EC serious on Kcr foul language. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has issued a notice to K. Chandrashekar Rao (Kcr), leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and former Chief Minister of Telangana, for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) during an election campaign speech.

The ECI's notice cites Kcr's use of derogatory and offensive language towards Congress leaders during a public meeting in Sircilla on April 5th. The ECI deemed his remarks, which included terms like "Lathkor," "Chavata Dhaddhamalu," and others, as inflammatory and potentially damaging to the reputation of opposing party leaders.

Furthermore, Kcr's statement suggesting BRS leaders would "bite the throats" of Congress leaders if certain promises were not fulfilled was also deemed a violation of the MCC, which prohibits the use of language that incites violence or hatred.

The ECI has demanded an explanation from Kcr by April 18th regarding his remarks and their compliance with the MCC. This incident adds to a growing list of instances where political leaders have been reprimanded for using offensive language during the election campaign, raising concerns about the tone and conduct of political discourse.
