Is Sharmila ruining Congress. Congress Kakinada city in-charge, Kola Prasada Varma, has leveled serious allegations against APCC president Y.S. Sharmila and her associates, accusing them of conspiring to impede the party's growth in the 2024 elections. Varma claimed that the list of candidates approved by the Congress Working Committee (CWC) for the upcoming assembly and Lok Sabha elections has been tampered with, resulting in the selection of individuals who lack a true understanding of the Congress ideology.

He specifically named CWC special invitee Gidugu Rudra Raju, party’s Kakinada Lok Sabha candidate M.M. Pallam Raju, and Congress leader Mastan Vali as individuals involved in this alleged plot to destabilize the Congress in Andhra Pradesh. Varma criticized the party's decision-making process, highlighting that despite the significant financial investments made by many Congress leaders over the past decade, they have been overlooked for tickets in the upcoming elections.

Varma pointed out the case of Neerukonda Venkata Satyanarayana, whose wife is a Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) member from YSRC in Prathipadu, and whose son is associated with Jana Sena. Despite this, Satyanarayana himself has been chosen as the Congress candidate for Prathipadu, a decision that Varma finds questionable. He further alleged that genuine Congress leaders from Kakinada, Kakinada Rural, Prathipadu, Tuni, Rajamahendravaram, Amalapuram, and other constituencies have been sidelined in the ticket allocation process.

Varma highlighted the case of the Kakinada Rural candidate who allegedly met with Sharmila in the morning and secured a ticket by the evening, implying a lack of transparency and fairness within the AP Congress. He expressed deep concern over the current state of affairs within the party, suggesting a need for internal reforms to address these issues.
