EC slaps notice to CM Jagan. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has taken a significant step by issuing a notice to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, addressing his consistent derogatory remarks aimed at Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu. The notice follows an official complaint filed by TDP Politburo member Varla Ramaiah on April 5th.

In response to this complaint, the EC has summoned Jagan, urging him to present his stance within 48 hours regarding the disparaging comments made during the YSRCP's 'Memanta Siddham' meeting. Failure to comply may result in further action against Jagan Reddy.

During the 'Memanta Siddham' public meetings held in Puttalapattu, Madanapalle, and Naidupeta, Jagan allegedly compared Nara Chandrababu Naidu to various demonic characters from popular films and levied false allegations against him. These remarks have sparked controversy and warranted the EC's intervention to uphold the integrity of political discourse.

The EC's notice underscores the importance of maintaining civility and dignity in political rhetoric, emphasizing the need for fair play and respect for opponents in the democratic process. It serves as a reminder that leaders must exercise responsibility and refrain from engaging in derogatory language that undermines the sanctity of the electoral process.
