Tollywood requests CM Revanth. The Tollywood industry bigwigs are planning to request Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to reduce the rates for film shootings in government premises in Telangana, as they are currently quite expensive. Producer-director Teja highlighted that Andhra Pradesh offers public locations for film shootings free of cost, making it a more affordable option compared to Telangana. He noted that filmmakers in Andhra Pradesh only need to pay Rs 1000 as document charges to APFDC for permission to shoot in various locations, saving them between Rs 15 to 35 lakhs per film. This cost-effective approach is seen as a blessing for small and medium-budget filmmakers.

In contrast, Telangana charges between Rs 15,000 and Rs 3,00,000 per day for various shooting locations, causing concern among Telugu film producers. These high fees force producers to allocate a significant portion of their budgets, ranging from Rs 15 to Rs 35 lakhs, solely for location fees, which is a significant burden.

Furthermore, obtaining permission from various government departments in Telangana is a challenging process, leading producers to explore shooting locations in other states. A Telangana-based producer, speaking anonymously, highlighted the steep increase in location charges in recent years, making it financially challenging for filmmakers. For instance, shooting in Qutb Shahi Tombs, which used to cost Rs 5000, now costs around Rs 50,000 per day. Premium spots like the Cable Bridge over Durgam Chevuru and T Hub charge Rs 3.5 lakhs and Rs 2 lakhs per day, respectively, further adding to production costs.

Despite the existence of a single window system in Telangana for obtaining shooting permissions, there are issues with local police support at public locations. The lack of adequate police protection puts the lives of superstars, actresses, and technicians at risk, as controlling surging crowds becomes difficult for crew members. Strengthening the single window system and addressing police support issues are critical for ensuring a smoother shooting experience in Telangana's public places.
