Balakrishna keen to become Cabinet Minister in TDP govt.Nandamuri Balakrishna, the successor of the legendary actor Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (Sr NTR), has carved his own niche in the Telugu film industry over the past five decades. Simultaneously, Sr NTR's legacy thrived in the political arena, securing power within nine months of forming a party and serving three terms as Chief Minister over seven and a half years in united Andhra Pradesh.

While NTR has film heirs, including Balakrishna, his political successor is his son-in-law, Chandrababu Naidu. Currently, Chandrababu is grooming his son, Lokesh, to carry on the political legacy. In 2014, breaking away from his cinematic prominence, Balakrishna entered direct politics, winning as an MLA twice from Hindupuram, a constituency where his father once held the Chief Ministerial position.

Balakrishna is now gearing up for his third victory in Hindupuram. Speculations are rife that if he secures this win and the TDP comes to power, Balakrishna might play a pivotal role in the government. This would signify his transition from an ordinary MLA to a government official. In 2014, despite winning, he did not assume a ministerial position, unlike his son-in-law, Nara Lokesh.

In the 2019 elections, Balakrishna triumphed amidst the Jagan Wave, but the TDP faced defeat. The anticipation now is that the TDP-Janasena alliance could regain power in the 2024 elections. Fans hope that Balakrishna, this time, will be appointed as a minister, given his father's extensive political legacy. There are even rumors that Balakrishna might take a hiatus from films after his current project directed by Bobby.

Reportedly, Balakrishna is contemplating a more dedicated focus on politics, prompting him to temporarily step back from the film industry. While the authenticity of these claims remains uncertain, it is suggested that Balakrishna could play a significant role if the party assumes power. There's also speculation about the succession plan within the Nandamuri family, with Chandrababu's son Lokesh being a potential heir, despite Balakrishna's elder son-in-law expressing ambitions for the Chief Ministerial position.

Balakrishna's strong desire to uphold his father's political legacy is evident, as seen in his symbolic act of sitting in Babu's chair in the central party office in Mangalagiri during Babu's arrest. Should the government change hands this time, Balakrishna might transcend his role as an MLA and take on a more influential position.
