Film stars and filmmakers have their dream projects and many work hard to turn them into a reality on screen. However unforeseen circumstances delay the projects for many decades. Under these circumstances, many wonder whether those crazy entertainers will ever see light on the celluloid.

Kamal Haasan who is known for his acting prowess planned many dream projects. One such project is Marmayogi. The film was supposed to start in 2008 under Raj Kamal Productions and Pyramid Symira. But the same production houses made huge losses with Rajinikanth's Kuselan (Kathanayakudu). So Marmayogi which was supposed to feature Trisha, Shriya, Hema Maldini, Mumaith Khan went into a backburner.

Kamal also planned another film Marudanayagam inspired by a 18th century warrior Mohammad Yousuf Khan. Shooting also was started in 1997 in a grand manner with British Queen Elizabeth 2 as a chief guest. However the project was shelved due to unforeseen circumstances. Sources say the project was shelved as a British Company that promised to co produce the film had gone back on its promise at the last minute. Kamal spent a whopping Rs 8crs for the project and sources say it may release in future.

Kamal Haasan's another mega project is Thalaivan Irukkiraan. He met many directors and producers with the script but none of them are coming forward.

Shankar's Robot too got delayed as Shankar planned Robot with Kamal who too gave green signal. They even roped in Preity Zinta and a photo shoot was done in Chennai in 2001. However Kamal walked out of the project due to dates problems. The project was stalled and after ten years, Shankar completed it with Rajinikanth. The film turned out to be a super hit and even its sequel 2.0 came recently.

Shankar also planned sequel for Indian (Bharateeyudu) and though the film's shooting started, various rumours are spreading that the project was shelved due to differences beteen Shankar and Lycaa Productions over film budget. Some even said that Shankar didnot like Anirudh Ravichander as music director and he preferred Rahman. Rumours spread  that Kamal got allergy due to makeup and  the shooting was stopped.

The tooth of Buddha:

Myskin planned a film The Tooth of Buddha inspired by a tooth worsipped by Sri Lankans and roped in Kamal Haasan. They contacted various producers but none came forward. Myskin claimed that it took more than six months to come out of that sad turn of events.

Sabash Naidu:

Kamal started this project in a grand manner in 2016 inspired by a character in Dasavataram. Shooting continued with Brahmanandam, Ramyakrishna, Shruti Haasan, but Rajeev Kumar the director walked out of the project due to ill health. Kamal took over the direction but shooting got stopped when he suffered leg injury. Shooting for this film is yet to start.
