Telangana Deputy Chief Minister (Education) Kadiam Srihari said that he has plans to retire from politics in the year 2021. In an informal chat with media persons in Assembly lobbies yesterday, Kadiam said he had seen made ups and downs in political career. 

‘I would prefer to be a member of Legislative Council than contesting the next general elections. After the lapse of my term in 2021, I would permanently retire from politics.

After taking over as Education Minister, I brought several reforms in the sector. Efforts were made to end irregularities in the private sector. Admissions in private engineering colleges were linked to candidates Aadhar Cards to curtail irregularities in Fee Reimbursement scheme and Bio-Metric attendance is also introduced in institutions.

It would take another five years to completely streamline the education system in Telangana. Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has given me full powers and liberty to take and implement own decisions,’ Kadiam said.
