Hindu Leader In Pakistan Cabinet!

Darshan Lal is the first Hindu politician in last 20 years to have taken the role of a cabinet minister in Pakistan Central Government.  The new Prime Minister Shahaid Khaqan Abbasi formulated his cabinet yesterday and has appointed 65 year old Darshan Lal to lead the coordination between four Pakistan provinces.

Lal was elected to National assembly second time in a row from 2013 on Pakistan Muslim League (N) ticket under the minority quota seat. He used to practice as a doctor in Mirpur Mathelo town in Ghotki district of Sindh province.

The decision by new PM Shahaid Khaqan to induct a Hindu into central cabinet is hailed by International media. Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain administered the oath to mammoth 47 cabinet ministers at the swearing-in ceremony.
