No Dil Raju Without Pellipandiri

Producers, distributors and exhibitors are the key persons in film industry who have to bear the pain and pressure in case of a movie’s failure.

Before being a producer, we all know Dil Raju was a distributor who is majorly known to distribute movies in Nizam region.

In a recent interview, Dil Raju shared some interesting facts of what made him to be the person that he is today.

Into a long flashback, Dil Raju bought the movie rights of Arundhathi, produced by Costumes Krishna and directed by Kranthi Kumar, way back in 1999.

The deal was set for 36 lakhs. Dil Raju gave 34 lakhs and the movie got released. It was a complete disaster and he lost all the money he invested.

Five days after its release, he went to meet Costume Krishna and gave him a parcel which had the remaining 2 lakhs.

Costume Krishna was highly impressed by Dil Raju’s commitment and gesture as this type of incident never happens in industry where distributor lost all the money and still honored the commitment.

Costume Krishna then invited Dil Raju for his next movie Pellipandiri opening and also gave him the video of the original Kannada version Anuraga Sangamam. He saw the Kannada version and was highly impressed with the movie but did not have money to distribute it.

After a lot of hard work, he was finally able to distribute Pellipandiri for Nizam region collaborating with MS Reddy.

Pellipandiri turned out to be a super hit at box office and from then there was never looking back for Dil Raju.

This is one example proves the honesty in Dil Raju and is one reason that he believes to be in a position of what he is today.
