Palaniswami Won The Trust Vote!

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E Palaniswami won the trust motion with a voice vote in Tamil Nadu special assembly session held today after two adjournments. The vote was won with, For 122 and against 11 votes thus 5 votes more the magical number 117. Speaker Dhanpal conducted the voting without DMK MLAs, who were seeking for secret ballot.

As the whip is passed by ruling AIADMK to all its party MLAs to vote for EPS, none of the MLAs voted for OPS which could invite disqualification under anti-defection law.  

While DMK workers continued to protest outside Raj Bhavan alleging that their party MLAs are forcefully evicted from Assembly, immediately DMK working President Stalin rushed to Raj Bhavan to meet Governor Vidyasagar. Whatsoever, speaker Dhanapal officially claimed that Palaniswami proved his majority.
