Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E Palaniswamy is taking the litmus test today to prove his majority in Assembly after being sworn in as CM on February 16th. Governor C Vidyasagar Rao gave 15 days time to prove his majority on floor. With all Sasikala blessings, Palaniswamy has to take on rebellious O Panneerselvam and opposition DMK to win the popular vote.

However, reports from Assembly say that DMK MLAs resorted to violence damaging the chairs and tables before rounding up the speaker. The house is adjourned till 1PM. While OPS camp demanded for a secret ballot, DMK demanded for postponement of the trust vote. As Speaker rejected both the appeals, house turned chaotic as DMK MLAs climbed on speaker’s table and one of the DMK MLAs Selvam sat on speaker’s chair.

Currently, a meeting is underway between CM Palaniswamy and senior ministers. National parties have seriously condemned DMK’s uproar and called it anti-National. Meanwhile, few of the officials injured in the Assembly are shifted to hospital in ambulance.
