'Potential' Terrorists at Yakub Memon Funeral

Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy ignited a new controversy by requesting the Intelligence sources to keep a tab on all those who have attended Yakub Memon’s funeral. For our information, Yakub Memon the 1993 Mumbai blasts convict is executed in Nagpur and his final rites are held on Thursday evening in Mumbai's Bada Khabristan graveyard.     

‘Intelligence should keep a tab on all (except relatives and close friends) who assembled before Yakub Memon’s corpse. Many are potential terrorists,’ Tathagata Roy posted on his Twitter page.

Being in a respected Constitutional post, Roy could have advised the Government of Chief Minister regarding this. Commenting on Twitter is taken as a serious concern by politicians and public. There are demands from opposition parties to drop Roy from the Governor position. 

‘Governors ought to be concerned about security of state. Intelligence keeping tab on Yakub’s mourners is preventing terror. Better than cure. When I suggested intelligence keeping a tab, I mentioned NO COMMUNITY. So how come I am accused of being communal bigot? Consider this seriously: 1.Did I talk about any community? 2. Did I ask for action or just keeping tabs,’ the Governor replied at the harsh slapping of criticism against him.
