During the introduction scenes of Raja Lingeshwara in the recently released movie of ‘Lingaa,’ hero Rajinikanth is showing reading the book of ‘The Hero with a Thousand Faces.’ As the time period of story is set in pre independence period, one wondered on how Rajini’s character would catch on hand a book which was released only in 1949 by Joseph Campbell. That was a mistake or blunder from direction department which did not have any knowledge on old literature.

Director KS Ravi Kumar accepted the mistake. ‘Actually, I wanted a book with ‘Hero’ present in the title just to elevate the heroism before train action episode scene. Art director Sabu Syril was given the assignment to bring that kind of a book. Direction department was unaware on to which year this book really belonged to. In order not to stop the shooting for this simple reason, we placed the same book in Rajini hands and the mistake is caught by viewers,’ KS Ravi Kumar said.
