Thriller Director-Duo in Dire Shock

The director duo of Abbas - Mastan is an approved brand for making of the best thriller and action films in current Bollywood. From the times of ‘Khiladi’ with Akshay Kumar in 1992 to recent ‘Race’ in 2008, they have strongly secured a target audience of their own. Amidst high expectations, ‘Players’ is the first super expensive film of Bollywood released in 2012 with a shining star cast of Abhishek Bachchan, Bobby Deol, Bipasha Basu, Sonam Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Vinod Khanna, Omi Vaidya and Johnny Lever.

Initial reviews and public talk for the film are so bad that the director duo is heard to be in a big shock. Except high technical values and exceptional action chases, there are big faults in scripting that made audience let down. Although there are curious and exciting elements with in the plot, ‘Players’ is rated as the weakest flick from best director combo.
