The 50 year old Chairman of Deccan Chronicle Holding Limited Mr T Venkattram Reddy spearheaded Deccan Chronicle when he was all of 21. The last 20 years has seen a remarkable turnaround for DC -- from a modest regional paper to a paper of National repute.

Today he runs a group of publications under the DCHL platform: Deccan Chronicle – the largest English newspaper by circulation in South India is published from 7 centres in Andhra  pradesh, Chennai and Bengaluru, The Asian Age  -- which has editions in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkota and London, Financial Chronicle -- the business daily which is published from New Delhi,

Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore, Andhra Bhoomi -- a Telugu newspaper, published from Hyderabad and six centres in Andhra Pradesh, Andhra Bhoomi Sachitra Vara Patrika -- a weekly general interest magazine that serialises stories from eminent writers, and Andhra Bhoomi Sachitra Masa Patrika -- a monthly Telugu magazine which carries novels and novellas by well-known writers, Andhra Bhoomi Panchangam -- a widely followed annual almanac for Andhra Pradesh.

In keeping with this interest in the printed word is his foray into Odyssey -- a leading bookstore and lifestyle chain that has 46 stories in 14 cities. Odyssey Publications and Deccan Publications have published books that are available in book stores across India. Seiger Solutions, DCHL’s alternate media platform, has launched Papyrus Clubs where software experts from Netlinks India,  co-ordinate with over 1,200 schools to help nearly 1.5 million student community
bring out their own newspapers online, with children playing roles of editors and reporters. Seiger also offer a job portal BigBreaks.com, a
matchmaking portal WeddingWow.com and an ecommerce portal DCdealoftheday.

A fairly nascent addition has been the ownership of Deccan Chargers, the Indian Premier League cricket team which won the IPL trophy for the 2009 season. Under the Deccan Chargers banner is run year-round sports activities in schools and colleges to promote sports and find talent.

Ten years back, Deccan Chronicle was positioned at an undistinguished No. 10 in the roster of top 10 most-read English newspapers in the country. Today, Deccan Chronicle  are front runners down south and in the top league nationally.
