Why this pan India star never votes

On Monday, amidst a flurry of activity in the Telugu film industry as stars like Mahesh Babu, Chiranjeevi, Allu Arjun, NTR, Ram Charan, Naga Chaitanya, Nani, and others exercised their democratic right by casting their votes, one notable absence caught attention: Prabhas. The acclaimed actor was conspicuously absent from the polling booths in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, continuing a pattern of non-participation in electoral processes in the region.

This absence is particularly noteworthy considering Prabhas's familial ties to politics, with his uncle Krishnam Raju having previously served as an MP, and his aunt Shyamala Devi's recent public support for the TDP alliance. Given this background, Prabhas's failure to vote is perceived as disappointing and emblematic of a missed opportunity to lead by example.

While many stars endured long queues to cast their votes, emphasizing the importance of citizen participation in the democratic process, Prabhas's absence stands out starkly. Even stalwarts like SS Rajamouli, who made a special trip from Dubai to Hyderabad, and veteran actor Kota Srinivasa Rao, aged 82, demonstrated their commitment to civic duty by voting.

In light of Prabhas's immense popularity as a pan-India star, his failure to vote sends a concerning message, especially considering the low voter turnout observed in Hyderabad and Secunderabad. His presence at the polling booths could have potentially motivated countless fans and citizens to exercise their franchise, thus contributing to a more vibrant and engaged democracy.
