Prabhas Salaar Registers Very Low TRP

Rebel Star Prabhas starrer 'Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire' which was released last December clashing with King Khan Shahrukh Khan's 'Dunki' emerged as boxoffice winner by grossing Rs 700 Crores globally. Though, the film doesn't got unanimous talk, audience thronged to theatres to watch Prabhas in massiest avatar after a while in Salaar. Prasanth Neel succeeded in presenting Prabhas in his best role, as a ferocious action hero which made Salaar work at the boxoffice.

Usually, blockbusters which did great at the theatres continue to take in good TRP's when they got premiered in Television channels. But, Salaar, has failed to impress viewers on its first television premiere. The film garnered a TRP of only 6.52, which falls short of expectations compared to recent Telugu releases on the Star Maa channel. Salaaar’s low TRP, indicating a lukewarm response from the television audience.

There is no need to draw conclusions about low TRP of Salaar with other film's TRP's. Salaar didn't got unanimous talk unlike other action films which are in comparison. Excessive violence and action restrict viewership. On the other hand the film was released more than four months back which is considered as old film in now-a-days OTT boom. 

Competition from other television premieres, or a shift in viewership patterns towards online streaming platforms, along with the IPL effect could also be the reason for this low TRP surrounding Salaar. While the television premiere’s performance doesn’t necessarily reflect the film’s overall success, let's see if the second time telecast of Salaar could fetch better TRP numbers.
