Popular Production House Offered Fancy Price For Devara

Jr NTR’s much-anticipated movie “Devara” is currently in the final stages of production, with the visual effects work progressing swiftly to meet the scheduled release date of October 10th. As the film nears completion, the focus shifts to securing distribution partners for its theatrical release across various regions. Recently, Karan Johar has joined to handle the movie’s distribution in the Northern circuits, along with Anil Thadani's AA Films.

Tough Competition for Devara Rights

Rumors are circulating within the industry circles suggest that two prominent Telugu producers, Dil Raju and Mythri Movie Makers, are actively vying to acquire the theatrical rights for “Devara.” In the past, Dil Raju primarily focused on acquiring Nizam rights along with the Vizag territory. However, with the changing landscape of the industry, he has expanded his scope and is now looking to secure total theatrical rights for all regions in the Telugu states, especially for big-ticket movies like “Devara.” 

Similarly, Mythri Movie Makers is also keen on acquiring the rights for both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, aiming to oversee the film’s distribution in its entirety. Additionally, reports also suggest that Sithara Entertainment’s Naga Vamsi has also entered the fray and is on the verge of finalizing a deal to secure the distribution rights.

Huge Offer For Devara Telugu States Theatrical Rights

The competition for the distribution rights of “Devara” is very stiff and other players too join the race, including Asian-Suresh Babu and others. As a result, the asking price for the theatrical rights has soared, with the makers reportedly seeking nearly Rs 120 crores for the deal. The film was reportedly made with a budget of Rs 140 Crs.

Directed by Koratala Siva, “Devara” is headlined by Jr NTR in the titular role. The movie marks second collaboration between the director and the actor, after delivering blockbuster Janatha Garage. The film also marks Telugu and South Film debut by Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. Anirudh is composing the music. Rathnavelu is cranking the camera. Devara : Part 1 is releasing on 10th October this year.
