Reason behind Rahman not working in Telugu. Renowned composer A.R. Rahman, known for his iconic compositions in various languages including Tamil, Hindi, English, Persian, and Mandarin, is set to make a mark in Telugu cinema once again. While many of his Tamil songs have been dubbed into Telugu or used in remakes, Rahman's direct involvement in a Telugu project that will be dubbed into other Indian languages is relatively rare.

According to writer Gopi Mohan, Rahman's return to Telugu cinema is highly anticipated by music lovers. Mohan notes that while Rahman has composed for a few Telugu films in the past like "Super Police," "Gangmaster," and "Komaram Puli," his songs from bilingual movies like "Naani" and "Ye Maaya Chesave" have also been well-received by Telugu audiences.

Mohan suggests that Rahman may have been less involved in Telugu cinema due to the industry's fast-paced nature, where filmmakers often require quick turnarounds. Rahman, on the other hand, prefers to work at his own pace and with filmmakers who understand his creative process. Despite this, Rahman's music has always had a universal appeal, transcending regional and language barriers.

Gopi Mohan believes that Rahman's collaboration with filmmakers like Ram Charan and Buchi Babu, who are planning pan-Indian projects, is a testament to Rahman's ability to elevate Telugu music to new heights. He also praises Rahman's recent work in the "Ponniyin Selvan" series, stating that the composer's talent is as strong as ever.

Mohan acknowledges the presence of top composers like Keeravani, DSP, and Thaman in Tollywood but suggests that there is room for other language composers to contribute to Telugu music. He concludes by stating that Rahman's return to Telugu cinema is sure to raise the bar for music in the industry.
