Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Wednesday said that around 2.5 lakh youth in the state will get direct involvement during the next five years while another 10 lakh youth will get indirect involvement during the same period from the Information Technology industry.

Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the ‘eIndia-2010’ at the HICC, Mr Rosaiah said that the city will remain a hub for IT industries from around the world.

The mega-event is jointly organised by the Centre for Science, Development and Media Studies (CSDMS), Department of Information Technology, Union Ministry of Communications, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Ministry of Urban Development and State Information Technology and Communications Department.

The premier Information and Communications Technology Event and Products Exhibition is an annual event and the city is hosting it for the second consecutive year.

Mr Rosaiah said during his speech that e-India has focus on e-Governance, with the objective of empowering India for the Digital Decade. He said that e-Governance is the process of using the ICT tools in delivery of services to the citizens. With the availability of enhanced internet bandwidth in every corner of the country, the service delivery “Anywhere Anytime Services” is becoming reality.

The Chief Minister said, “In our country, ICT infrastructure is created through National e-Governance Plan to address the transformational needs of the Government to Citizens (G2C), Government to Business (G2B) and Government to Government (G2G) interfaces.”
