Cricket God Sachin Tendulkar has taken the oath today to become the new member of Rajya Sabha. The 39 year old cricketer was followed by his wife Anjali and Congress Leader Rajiv Shukla while Chairman Hamid Ansari looked after the proceedings. Actually, Sachin was to take the oath in last month with cine actress Rekha and industrialist Anu Aga. Due to IPL season, Sachin postponed it for today.

Sachin Tendulkar spoke to media men saying, ‘cricket has given me everything. I wanted to give something in return to cricket in latter half of my life. Becoming the member of Rajya Sabha, I am in a better position to help cricket and also other sports. I will give my best and try to help all other sports. I need support from my fellow parliamentarians, the administrators, media and our countrymen.’
