Entry of Ys Jagan Mohan Reddy into Lord Venkateshwara’s shrine in Tirumala yesterday has sparked a new row of religious debate. As every one knows, Jagan is a Christianity practitioner and he cannot be allowed to enter into Tirumala temple without declaring his religious faith on Lord Balaji. Reports say that, temples like Lord Krishna in Guruvayur or Meenakshi in Madhurai and Pasupathinath in Kathmandu strictly prohibit the entry of non-Hindu believers.

From the times of 1960, TTD alone allows non-Hindu followers inside the temple only if they sign a declaration confirming their non-Hindu status but also has strong belief in Lord Balaji. However, YS Jagan being a non-Hindu visitor has to sign the declaration went for darshan without signing any declaration. Unfortunately, one among the Jagan’s followers into the temple was Bhumana Karunakar Reddy; a former TTD chairman is also unaware of this. Orthodox Hindu followers turned quite serious on this issue.
